Ka’a’awa Beach is a dreamy place to have your photoshoot done. It’s not just about the beach, it’s about the beauty, the scenery, and the greenery. 

No surprise, why 79+ films have been shot at this location. Breathtaking views make it a must to visit this place. Also, this place is considered the most Instagrammable location to capture amazing photographs. 

As for the season, you should visit it between September and November. And as for the time, there is no such restriction, you can visit it any time of the day. Be it night or day, you are going to love the photographs. 

#2 Kahala Beach Palm Tree Island

Beaches and Palm trees make people travel from around the globe to visit Hawaii. But this Honolulu beach called Kahala Beach has its own unique charm. 

Once you visit that place, you’ll not get enough of it. Its breathtaking sunset and sunrise views will mesmerize you for sure. As a Honolulu photographer, I’ve experienced this thing quite often that some places are really beautiful and out of this world, but when you shoot them, they don’t look that beautiful. 

But Kahala Beach Palm Tree Island has surprised me with its spectacular beauty, it’s beautiful both with real eyes and with the camera lens. 

August to September is the best time to visit this place. 

#3 Koko Crater & Coastline

The combination of lush greenery, clean pure water, and massive volcanoes is really rare to see. But in Hawaii, you can expect anything. 

Hikers are fond of this place called Koko Crater. Not just hikers, but people love to use this place for their photography purposes. 

Especially, couples love the coastline and want to capture their loving moments there. Koko Crater & Coastline is accessible to everyone whether they visit in the day or night. But it is advisable to visit this place in the winter season. 

Even if you decide to visit in the summer season, then consider doing the photoshoot in the morning because it will be less hot. 

#4 Hilton Lagoon Palm Tree Reflection

There are some places that make it obvious that you’re in Hawaii. One such place is the Hilton Lagoon Palm Tree Reflection.

I’ve always wondered why Oahu photographers always recommend this place to people for photoshoots. And after getting the answer, I must say they were all right. 

Waimanalo Bay sunrises are famous for a reason. You’ll be amazed by the sun that will emerge from the beach’s heart. 

Everything will be so vibrant and energetic that you’ll have the perfect photoshoot naturally. You won’t have to pretend to be happy, Waimanalo’s fresh air will make you happy by heart. And if you want sunset photography, no problem. 

Because when the sun sets in the huge mountains, you’ll experience the best view possible. That view will be magnificent enough to serve as a background for your memorable photoshoot. 

#7 Hilton Lagoon & Palm Tree

No one can ignore white sand and pure blue water. Hilton Lagoon is the only man-made beach that I love the most. Why? Because it is covered with tall palm trees and still vibrant enough to serve as a background for photoshoot purposes. 

Although you can visit this place any time of the year, I would say visit it only in the winter season. Because during the summer season, you will find this place a little hotter than desired. 

#8 Secret Island Beach at Kualoa Ranch

If you’re an introvert like me who can’t confidently pose at populous beaches, consider choosing the Secret Island Beach at Kualoa Ranch. 

This place has a vibe that attracts people who love solitude. Couples don’t get enough privacy at beaches, especially in Hawaii, you can expect people everywhere. But this Secret Island ensures that you have peace and privacy to enjoy your special moments. 

I, as an Oahu photographer, will definitely suggest that you should visit this place for your photography purposes. You’ll never regret this decision. 

#9 Crouching Lion Trail view of Kahana Bay

If you’re an adventurous couple who doesn’t want a lazy photoshoot at the beach then the crouching lion trail view is the perfect spot for you. 

First, you would have to climb way above the ground. Be ready to encounter the steep slopes. 

If you make it to the top, then you will experience the most beautiful views of Kahan Bay, and you’ll forget about the photography for a while. 

No exaggeration, but you’re going to love the place. Consider visiting it in the spring season because both in summer and winter you’ll find it really hard to climb.

Lulumahu Falls is a go-to destination for all waterfall lovers. This place is in the heart of the lush green bamboo forest. You can safely visit this place at any time of the year. The only trouble you can get is about the muddy trek. But as it is very short, you will not have to struggle much. 

I would suggest you to not wear your photoshoot clothes on the way because they can get dirty due to the mud. 

#11 Tantalus Lookout Tree View of Diamond Head & Downtown Honolulu

I love watching city lights from the mountains for two reasons; first, I love that view and second I can capture amazing cinematic photographs. 

Couples love Tantalus Lookout Tree because it provides them with a proper place to sit and watch the city lights along with the sunset. 

You can see how beautiful city lights look in the movies. Similarly, when you pose in front of that view, it will also result in beautiful breathtaking photographs. 

#12 Mokoliʻi (Chinaman’s Hat) & Oahu Mountains

Mokoli’i is the only place in Oahu that makes you feel special. How? You can have your photoshoot here, and no one will be able to photobomb your images. Because it is a small island that is peaceful enough to let you do your photoshoot in zero chaos.

Well, no doubt Hawaii has the most beautiful beaches and huge mountains, but you can’t deny the beauty of Waialua Sunflowers Farm. 

You can’t have that lively and blossoming vibe at a beach that you can experience at Waialua sunflower farm. 

#14 Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden

As a photographer in Honolulu, I would say forget everything and visit the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden. Its beauty is beyond imagination. 

Although the road that leads to the lush green mountains is spectacular enough to take some shots there. But as photography is strictly avoided there, you can’t consider it as a photography spot. 

But in the Botanical Garden, you can capture shots after seeking permission from the authorities. Avoid visiting the place in the rainy season, overall, you can visit it in all the other seasons.

Waikiki photography is incomplete without Ala Wai Boat Harbor. Don’t you like oil paintings? How about a real-life oil painting view where you can have your photoshoot done?

How about 1 hour of hiking to enjoy the most mesmerizing views of nature? Great idea, no? 

If you want wedding photography, then, of course, it’s a huge no. Because you won’t have the energy to hike up the mountain. Although the greenery will push you to hike, I won’t recommend it. 

Other than wedding photography, couples or family members should definitely think about visiting this place; both to enjoy the beauty of this place and for photography purposes.

Bad photographs at Farrington Highway? No way! 

There’s a certain attraction in highways that attracts photographers to capture jaw-dropping photos. As a photographer, I can assure you that, yes, Highway photography is the most underrated photography ever known. 

People usually take roads for granted, but no one can take Farrington Highway for granted. Because of the epic views it provides. On one side, there are huge elevated lush green mountains, and on the other side, there is a calm yet exciting beach. 

You can have the most Hawaiian photoshoots ever on this highway.
